Tottenham Hotspur has made a big future commitment to Argentine manager Mauricio Pochettino. It’s official now, as the 44-year-old announced a new agreement over the weekend to stay with the club until 2021. Pochettino has big plans too.
He says he wants to leads Spurs into their news 61,000 seat stadium in a couple years as league champions, and he’s looking to build a dynasty at White Hart Lane like Sir Alex Ferguson did at Manchester United.
He arrived at Spurs in 2014, signing a five year deal to stay at White Hart Lane. This year, Pochettino managed Spurs up into the UEFA Champions League, as they contended with Leicester City for the title all the way down the home stretch. Now it’s time to get rewarded for a job well done.
“We started to speak before, a few months ago, and today I think is a good moment to communicate we have reached the verbal agreement,” Pochettino said couple days ago.
“It was an easy decision when you feel the love of the people and the potential of the club is massive, so why change? We create a good atmosphere on the training ground, and we can achieve big things in the future. I believe in this project and this club. I want to stay here.”
