Susannah Collins returns to your television sets for just the second time since Chicago Blackhawks Owner Rocky Wirtz forced Comcast SportsNet Chicago to “remove her from my airwaves” on May 1st. Collins worked the sideline for Louisiana Tech versus UTEP college football a few weeks ago in her first gig post her Blackhawks rinkside days. Since then, Susannah Collins has moved back to New York City and has teamed up again with a producer she worked with during her days at Showtime.
Here’s a paraphrase of what the press release says about Susannah Collins and the broadcast (you didn’t think I was just going to copy and paste the press release did you? What kind of lazy hack do you think I am? Well, I can be pretty lazy about some things, but not about this!)
CBS Sports Network on Wednesday, Jan. 8 7:00 PM ET (press releases may be written in New York City and conveyed in Eastern Standard Time, but this site is headquartered in Chicago my friend! We do all our announcements in CST! It’s a Midwest thing!) as *No. 8-ranked Villanova visits Seton Hall in a BIG EAST (What’s with the Big East always mentioning the conference name in all their releases in ALL CAPS! SO YOU KNOW THEY’RE YELLING at you! LOUD NOISES!) match-up.
The Network will air an enhanced audio experience with 30 microphones at court level providing viewers a courtside seat with unprecedented access and sound from coaches, players and referees.
Andrew Catalon and analyst Steve Lappas announce from the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., along with reporter Susannah Collins, who will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the unique production of the game.
One last thing, not related to Susannah Collins at all, a lot of “journalists” do copy and paste press releases without changing a thing all the time. It happens so much it’s scary.
