With the Paul Chryst deal done, that was a really, really quick coaching search by Wisconsin. It’s not a home run hire by any means, but it’s a perfect fit. He’s from Madison, he was the offensive coordinator for a very long time under Bret Bielema and it makes total sense. You would have to think that this might be a dream job for Chryst.
However, this won’t be made official and Paul Chryst won’t be formally introduced as the new coach in Madison until Wednesday December 17th, at the earliest.
#Badgers AD Barry Alvarez issued obligatory no-we-didn’t-break-state-rules-by-hiring-a-coach-too-soon statement. Don’t worry, Chryst is it.

“We are continuing the process of finding our new head football coach. We have not offered the position to anyone. In accordance with University of Wisconsin hiring policies, the earliest we could make an offer to a candidate is Wednesday, Dec. 17. Any accepted offer would be contingent upon approval by the UW System Board of Regents.”
