Back in late February, where we scheduled to have a phone interview with legendary former Major League Baseball player Jose Canseco, but the publicist who was working to promote his Renegades show, with Jim McMahon and Terrell Owens, in Las Vegas totally dropped the ball.
She scheduled it when I was out of the state on vacation, and never came back to me with a rescheduled time, so that is a definition of dropping the ball worthy of Webster’s dictionary.
While we didn’t get that Jose Canseco exclusive, we at least got a Tweet from the man who clubbed 462 home runs and drove in 1407 runs over the course of his Major League career.
Eight days ago we posted this video of Otis, ginger tabby and official Sports Bank mascot:
Misjudged and misplayed the fly ball like Jose Canseco that infamous time pic.twitter.com/0JlayIfuM9

Otis loves to chase tennis balls everyday as part of his play time; sometimes he even pulls off this nifty parkour move off the walls as he plays the bounce. (Follow him on Instagram @OtisGingerTabby)
Our joke of course referenced the infamous Carlos Martinez home run that bounced off Canseco’s head in Cleveland 5-26-93. Canseco had the absolutely perfect response, and thanks to him, the video is closing in on 10,000 views right now.

From there we took a look at Canseco’s Twitter feed, and then we discovered just how on point and extremely entertaining it has been lately. You got to love this tweet at the President.
Space Force, if it ever actually comes close to happening (it won’t) is about as dumb and pointless an idea as one can imagine, but hey that’s beyond the scope of this article.
Hey little buddy @realDonaldTrump I am ready to be a starfleet commander in the space force . Dm me #canseconaut

If you came to the Jose Canseco Twitter feed for the topical, observational humor, stay for the poetic contemplation.
There’s pure poetry to be found on his feed as well.
When you can hand cuff lightning and throw thunder in jail come talk to me…

Be sure to scroll all the way down to Flag Day (June 14) and you can see a few tweets composed of prose which is rich in imagery.
(When the rest of heaven was blue). Of a demon in my view.

If the current baseball only doldrums of the sports calendar is leaving with you more time to kill online than usual, be sure to check out out his feed. And Mr. Canseco, if you read this, and you have another new project to promote- DM/Email us. We’d love to finally get that interview on the books.
