Before we get into the comparisons and contrasts between Penn State at Northwestern, as well as Joe Paterno and Pat Fitzgerald, let's get this out of this way first- pretty much every major power conference college football program has had a scandal or two. You can look at just the Big Ten East division alone. Michigan State is suffering through a scandal that involves a … [Read more...] about Penn State at Northwestern Invites Joe Paterno-Pat Fitzgerald Comparisons

Given what happened at Northwestern this summer, and the similarities to what happened at Penn State in 2011, this weekend's meeting between the two programs provides the perfect time to re-examine the 2018 HBO film Paterno, which chronicles the when the nation learned what a monster former Penn State Defensive Coordinator Jerry Sandusky is. Here is our review and analysis, … [Read more...] about Re-Examining HBO’s Joe Paterno Crime Film Drama

Joe Paterno’s 1992 Letter to College Presidents Reeks of Fraud
Given what kind of year it's been for Penn State, Jerry Sandusky and Joe Paterno, this old letter I saw republished on Athlon seems perfect for revisiting. Sandusky looks guilty as sin for the crimes alleged against him, and Paterno looks like the complete opposite of the man who was named Sports Illustrated "Sportsman of the Year" in 1986. Think about that for a second, … [Read more...] about Joe Paterno’s 1992 Letter to College Presidents Reeks of Fraud
Penn St WR Who Punched Starting QB Not Making Bowl Trip
The Penn State Nittany Lions will be without four players for its TicketCity Bowl game against Houston on New Year's Day, the only one you've heard of is wide receiver Curtis Drake, who beat up starting QB Matt McGloin a week or so ago. McGloin has thrown 1,571 yards, 8 TDs and 5 INTs this season, completing 54% of his passes, but throwing for a miniscule 6.8 yards per … [Read more...] about Penn St WR Who Punched Starting QB Not Making Bowl Trip
Christmas Wish: No More Child Molesters in Sports
Without a doubt, the news story of the year in 2011 was Penn State. Joe Paterno went from all time leader in college football victories to enabler of child rape in less than a week. Has there ever been a fall from grace this far, this fast? Has there ever been such a disgusting monster to hold a higher position in sports than Jerry Sandusky? Has there ever been a more … [Read more...] about Christmas Wish: No More Child Molesters in Sports
Former Penn State Players Circulating Letter in Support of Joe Paterno
Below is a letter signed by 425 former Penn State players showing support for former head coach Joe Paterno who turned 85 years old today. I was pretty surprised to see Todd Blackledge sign it. As a member of the media establishment, an establishment that has kind of condemned Paterno for his role in protecting Jerry Sandusky. Unless you're someone who's Penn State blue … [Read more...] about Former Penn State Players Circulating Letter in Support of Joe Paterno

Yesterday the embattled Mike McQueary gave his testimony at the preliminary hearing for two Penn State officials (former Athletic Director Tim Curley and V.P. The former Penn State coach and recruiting coordinator appears to no longer be with the program, but his testimony to be … [Read more...] about Mike McQueary Told Paterno he Witnessed “Extremely Sexual” Acts by Sandusky
