The NIU Huskies are having a pretty awesome experience in the Poinsettia Bowl. The press conference and luncheon was on an aircraft carrier! The teams got to visit Sea World and the San Diego Zoo. The city of San Diego itself is pretty kick ass.
You couldn’t ask for a better locale and “vacation aspect” of a bowl game experience. Here’s the link our Poinsettia Bowl game preview and prediction. And within this post you’ll find some photos of the NIU Huskies aboard the aircraft carrier the U.S.S. Midway.

Here’s a snippet of the recap of today’s events via the NIU Huskies Sports Information Department.
The Northern Illinois University football team visited the famous USS Midway in San Diego for a massive luncheon, head coach Rod Carey spoke at a press conference attended by various media outlets and the NIU Huskies fully entered game mode on Tuesday ahead of Wednesday’s Poinsettia Bowl Game versus Boise State at Qualcomm Stadium.
Enjoy the Poinsettia Bowl NIU Huskies fans! We’re just hours and minutes away now from kickoff. If you ever get to San Diego, be sure to check out the U.S.S. Midway museum- IT’S AWESOME!
