With Robert Griffin III stealing all of Tim Tebow’s ESPN attention, the New York Jets quarterback has found a way to land himself back in the headlines.
Tebow, who has only started for the Jets once this season, will reportedly request a trade or to be released if he doesn’t get the chance to start over Greg McElroy in the final two games of the season.
Since his tenure with the Jets, Tebow has gone from being America’s sweet heart, to a largely forgotten about backup quarterback.
To be fair, Tebow wasn’t given the chance to prove himself in New York. He went to the Jets while he was red hot and they used his heat to warm their bench.
Tebow brought the Jets the attention they needed in wake of the New York Giants Super Bowl win. It seems like they used him as a publicity stunt and never really intended to give him the opportunity to be a starting quarterback.
