The Miami Dolphins are 0-4, and look possibly destined for the Andrew Luck Sweepstakes, otherwise known as the derby for the #1 pick in the NFL Draft. Get ready to “Suck for Luck.”
According to the AP, Dolphins quarterback Chad Henne is lost for the rest of the season with a separated left shoulder. Yes, the Michigan Man will play no more football in 2011.
Henne was injured in the first quarter of the team’s 26-16 defeat to the San Diego Chargers in week four. Does that mean it’s time for Matt Moore now?
Henne gets lucky that the Dolphins have a week five bye, and he’s waiting on a second opinion that could give him another chance to take the field this year. Maybe. The former Wolverines signal caller has a passer rating of 79, with 4 TDs and 4 INTs, throwing for 868 yards on 57% completion this season. He’s looked good, or at least serviceable as a NFL QB this fall. And he’s not the reason the ‘Fins are 0-4.
Miami now turns to Moore, who completed 17-of-26 passes for 167 yards with an interception against San Diego. The Dolphins are also expected to pursue one or two available quarterbacks as they only carry Henne and Moore on the active roster. Maybe look in state, at former Jacksonville Jaguars signal caller David Garrard?
