Woes for Patriots RBs (past or present) carrying over to off-the-field now
By Paul M. Banks
It was a very bad year to be a New England Patriots running back last season. The Pats’ “starter” Laurence Maroney (a 2006 1st-rounder out of Minnesota) was benched and presumable sent to Siberia after fumbling near the goal line the Jaguars. They may need to find a new man to carry the rock in the 2010 NFL Draft, which begins tomorrow night. And adversity is now spilling over to off-the-field, and affecting retired Patriots running backs.
From TMZ.com:
Retired NFL star Corey Dillon is having a seriously bad month — he was busted for DUI this morning, and TMZ has learned his wife just filed for divorce.
Desiree Dillon filed a petition for divorce earlier this month in L.A. County Superior Court, citing irreconcilable differences.
The couple has three children and have been married for 10 years. According to court documents, Desiree wants full legal and physical custody of the kids — with Corey getting visitation.

Now I know what you’re thinking: “when you meet a girl named Desiree, typically she’s more the kind of girl you give lots of singles to in a club around 3 a.m. than she is the kind of girl you want to marry.” What can I say? I guess Corey was never able to find a stable, wholesome woman named Krystal, Raven, Tiffany, or Lindsey to settle down with!
