2016 NFL free agency has been going strong now for close to two weeks, meaning a lot of teams have filled some of their needs. Obviously, there are some losers too in this free agent market but we’ll save that discussion for another time. This is a list of the winners.

There are still plenty of NFL free agency moves to come and we’ll be keeping tabs on that and updating. We’ve also had to shred our now old NFL mock draft and instead create an entirely new one now.

Without further ado, here are some of teams that we can declare NFL free agency winners.

Chicago Bears: The days of Brian Urlacher and Lance Briggs seem like ancient history so the Bears did exactly what they had to do- restore the linebackers position group wth Danny Trevathan and Jerrell Freeman. They also added Akiem Hicks at DT.

Detroit Lions: Marvin Jones isn’t Calvin Johnson of course, but he’s a complete receiver and a capable deep threat, so the motor city did a good job

San Diego Chargers: Lots of needs to be filled, so it’s good that they were aggressive. The Chargers still have plenty of work to do, but it’s a decent start in nabbing Casey Hayward, DB from the Packers, and Brandon Mebane, DT from the Seahawks

Houston Texans: Brock Osweiler is not that experienced, and he’s doesn’t look like a world-beater, but man, do they need a quarterback! Top flight QBs never ever reach the open market, so this is about as good as they could have done this off-season. Yes, despite how obscenely they overpaid.
