In this no nonsense, we never punt, we charge forward with the latest information from around the NFL so you donโt have to. Hereโs the latest:
WR Plaxico Burress will join the NY Jets on a one-year, $3 million contract giving the team one of the nest receiving corps in the NFL. This move pretty much assures there is no way WR Braylon Edwards will rejoin the team.
Former Ravens TE Todd Heap is visiting the NY Jets on Sunday. The veteran would make an exceptional back-up to Dustin Keller.
The Chicago Bears also made some interesting moves Saturday, signing former Dallas Cowboys running back Marion Barber to a one year deal. This is the third player the Bears have added that was on the Cowboys last season. Earlier in the week they added wide receivers Roy Williams and Sam Hurd. Barber was with Dallas for 6 seasons, amassing 4,358 rushing yards and 47 touchdowns. He should serve as the 3rd running back for the Bears spelling Matt Forte and Chester Taylor.
The Chicago Bears also signed former Houston Texans tackle Amobi Okoye and resigned cornerback Corey Graham to a one-year deal.
Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning signs a 5-year, $90 million contract to stay with the team. Is anyone surprised?
Albert Haynesworth reportedly didnโt pass his conditioning test for the New England Patriots Saturday. Given his history with the Washington Redskins, would you expect anything less from โFat Albert?โ
On paper, the Philadelphia Eagles have the best defense in the NFL, as they signed defensive lineman Cullen Jenkins to a five-year, $25 million deal.
The Cincinnati Bengals signed former San Francisco 49ers cornerback Nate Clements to a deal.
The Cincinnati Bengals also signed their top draft pick, wide receiver A.J. Green to a four-year deal, $19.68 million deal.
The Houston Texans agreed to a five-year deal with Johnathan Joseph.
