Ah NBA Draft night, when league commissioner David Stern introduces men tall enough to set drinks on his head to a nation of college basketball and Association fans.
It’s also the night that the formal dress code gets thrown out the window. Fashion week, it is not. Get ready for more futuristic, throw backs to the past, and just plain old UGLY threads to grace the stage on Thursday night.
We begin with Joakim Noah and his 2007 attempt to gain a year of eligibility at Clown College/become a villain in the 1990 live action version of “Dick Tracy.” (above)
This picture of Samaki Walker in his 1996 draft night get-up…remember Fly Guy’s talent competition “poem” in “I’m Gonna Git You Sucka.”
After seeing Jalen Rose’s 1994 ensemble, I don’t believe the Michigan Wolverines Fab 5 got a lot of money under the table any more. No one who has a lot of money at the time would ever wear this.
Yet another reason to make fun of the Minnesota Timberwolves. Raymond Felton (a bust if there ever was one) and his 1990 chain link fence in thread form.
Was Drew Gooden trying to emulate Dr. Evil? Mr. Roboto? If this is supposed to be the future..than the future is owwww!
