The North Carolina Tar Heels have four players who will be drafted by the NBA on June 28th: Harrison Barnes, Tyler Zeller, John Henson, and their point guard Kendall Marshall. All were in Chicago yesterday for the pre-draft camp. Media sessions are part of the agenda. When Marshall, one of the best point guards available in a kind of weak class for that position, talked to reporters, you can guess what one of the main topics of discussion was.
How’s his health? How’s the wrist?
Here’s where we currently have Marshall in our mock draft:
10. New Orleans (from LAC via MIN)- Kendall Marshall, PG, North Carolina, 6-2, So.
Since they added some size with their earlier pick, the Hornets should look to bolster their backcourt depth. A shooting guard would be an option since Eric Gordon is a restricted free agent and Marco Belinelli is an unrestricted free agent but the more dire need is at point guard. Kendall Marshall gets the nod over Damian Lillard because I think he is the better fit in New Orleans.
