Now that the series shifts to Miami, I’m ready for all of my media brethren to run one of these two cliches into the ground. Either a.) Will Smith’s song from 1999 “I’m going to Miami, Bienvenidos a Miami” or last summer’s “I’m taking my talents to South Beach.” Either way, I’m about to throw up on my shoes.
-Don’t act so shocked that Chicago Bulls dropped this one. You knew this series was going 7, or at least 6 whether the Miami Heat win it or not. I did say in my game 1 reaction “there’s NO WAY Chicago keeps up their 10-21 from 3pt range for this series.” I’m not calling myself Bankstradamus for that. Too easy, too obvious. However, I didn’t think the Bulls would revert to an UGLY 3-20 from behind the arc.
-If there was any NBA playoff game that you had to miss, this would be it. Chicago set a playoff record with just 10 4th quarter points. Lebron James had 9 in the 4th all by himself.
-The Miami Heat are routinely named the NBA’s hottest dance team (One man fast break)
-Well, I hope for Miami’s sake that they can win when Rose shoots 7-23, and the Bulls as a team go 15% from behind. Good news is the Bulls led the NBA in opp 3-pt FG% this season, so don’t expect the Heat to beat them with that part of their game.
-Bad news is Taj Gibson had one rebound; that’s one more than a dead guy. Kyle Korver had one field goal- also one more than a dead guy. Chicago still solidly beat Miami in off rebounds though 17-10
-Much will be made about how the “the Heat have re-claimed home court advantage in this series” now with the split. Quoting Jay Cutler: “DOOOOOOOOOOON’T CARE!!!!!!!” When you play defense and rebound like the Bulls do, you can win in any venue. And Miami Heat fans suck: remember this desperate “Fan up” campaign from earlier this season? And of course, a parody that followed

-Derrick Rose was 2-4 at the rim, 0-7 at 3-9 feet, 2-12 in the paint, 7-10 on FTs. He was 5-9 on long-2s; you know, shots he normally misses. –a Tweet from LoadoBull

-I’m offering $200 cash to any journalist that goes up to Chris Bosh at shootaround and sings the refrain/does the dance from this song Or hum this composition in front of him.
