All the “Rose should be MVP” columns have been writtten. As have all the “Rose isn’t the MVP” backlash columns. That discussion is pretty much over, as the time for that award announcement draws near.
The Mothership, the Evil Empire if you will, is overwhelmingly in support of the Chicago Bulls Derrick Rose as the NBA MVP award recipient. Check out the ESPN basketball panel voting. Rose took home 27/35 votes.
Of course, ESPNChicago Bulls reporter Nick Friedell voted for Rose. You gotta get the home cooking. So where did the other 8 votes go?
Well LeBron James of the Miami Heat took home 4 votes; and oddly enough 4/5 True Hoop ballots. I don’t read TH very much, and this election did nothing to inspire me to change that habit.
Dwight Howard of Orlando took home two votes, and interestingly enough Manu Ginobili of the Spurs and Dwanye Wade of the Heat garnered a vote as well.
