Derrick Rose is out for the entire postseason with a torn ACL. Yes, he’s done for the playoffs, and essentially so are the Chicago Bulls.
Everyone’s reporting it, although NBC Miami seemed to get it first- or jumped the gun on it. Whatever, it’s official now.
The keys to the team are now turned over to C.J. Watson. The reigning MVP went down with 1:10 left in game one versus the Philadelphia 76ers. He had a game high 23 points, and was just a rebound and an assist shy of a triple double.
The Bulls winning percentage without Rose this regular season was not much lower than their winning percentage with him. However, playoff NBA is a lot different from regular season NBA. Tom Thibodeau is one of the best coaches in the league, so there’s hope for Bulls fans yet. Just not a lot of reason for hope.
