Chicago Bulls superstar and local product Dwyane Wade will miss the rest of the season, an official team press release said. According to the club, results of an MRI showed a sprain and a small fracture in his right elbow, which will sideline him for the rest of the 2016-17 regular season.
There is a possibility that he could return for the NBA playoffs, but that’s a strong doubt given a.) how the Bulls season has resulted thus far and b.) how one could forecast their performance down the stretch here without D. Wade.
The Bulls are just 32-36 and currently out of the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference, amidst a dreadful season of horrifying discord in the locker room. The Bulls, who have now dropped to tenth place in the conference, have lost six of their last seven, and next play at the Washington Wizards on Friday night.
Dwyane Wade averaged 18.6 points and 4.5 rebounds in his first homecoming season with the Bulls. The Chicago native moved to suburban Robbins in his youth and was bused to high school in Oak Lawn. Since returning to Chicago, now a NBA elite, he bought a mansion in the Gold Coast.
Wade collided with the Memphis Grizzlies Zach Randolph in the game last night and said later that he “heard a couple of pops.”
