Jimmer Fredette was the National Player of the Year in college basketball. Jimmer’s amazing season inspired “Jimmermania” which in turn led to the usage of the term Jimmer as a verb and a metaphor for greatness.
He also inspired the greatest Sports Illustrated cover ever. And then his team was eliminated in the very next game, once again giving more credibility to the “SI Cover Jinx” idea.
The 6-2, 195-pound native of from Glens Falls, N.Y., becomes the first national player of the year from BYU and just the second from the Mountain West Conference after Utah’s Andrew Bogut won the award in 2005.
Now Jimmer is taking his talents to the next level, he just completed the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago. It’s been said that Jimmer’s workouts and interviews increased his NBA Draft Stock significantly.
