Yes Network hired Meredith Marakovits away from CSN Philadelphia. Marakovits is from just north of Philadelphia, so her attempting to rap a song that begins “in West Philadelphia born and raised….” That’s right Meredith Marakovits broke out some Will Smith, the theme from “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” on the air on Independence Day.
As you know “Independence Day” is a movie starring Will Smith. And Meredith Marakovits “sung” after a game won by a MLB pitcher named Will Smith. It all comes full circle (video via Yes Network)
Meredith Marakovits has covered the New York Yankees since 2010, and has worked the sidelines for the Philadelphia 76ers in her career as well. You might have noticed she looks quite different in that video than she does in these pictures here. I guess the camera adds 15 pounds. Or she’s aged considerably. Or both. Yes, it’s quite noticeable.
Meredith Marakovits played volleyball at La Salle, where she graduated in 2005. Pictures via the Meredith Marakovits Facebook Fan Page
Meredith Marakovits got a little more national pub on CSN Philly’s Eagles Post Game Live where she interviewed “Angry Greg Ryan” an ornery and funny self-deprecating Philadelphia Eagles fan
And here she is with Fabio
