Manchester United defender Chris Smalling screwed up royally today and I bet Manager Louis van Gaal probably let him have it at halftime (here’s video of the Iron Tulip calling the infraction “stupid”). Owen Hargreaves called Smalling’s first blunder “the silliest yellow card I’ve ever seen.”
Below you’ll find a Vine of the dirty tackle that led to the second yellow card in the 39′. That of course got Chris Smalling sent off and forced United to play a man down for for close to two-thirds of the game. City then easily won the Manchester Derby 1-nil and it’s pretty easy to find a scapegoat in this one.
