Time to focus on the NBA Draft. It seems possible that the Illinois Fighting Illini will once again have representation on draft night. Guard Brandon Paul was at the draft combine and he’s had contact with the L.A. Clippers, Lakers, Brooklyn Nets and Chicago Bulls.
Two years ago was a disaster for Illini nation when both Demetri McCamey and Jereme Richmond went undrafted, despite all the pre-draft hype (both attended the combine and were projected very high). Last year brought pride to Champaign as Meyers Leonard went top ten to the Portland Trail Blazers. Brandon Paul could hear his name called this June. Maybe? Maybe not?
Here’s a NBA mock draft composite for Brandon Paul.
here’s our latest 2013 NBA Mock Draft. The most ACCURATE on the whole wide web the last two years!!! David Kay was #1; he has BP going 40th overall to the Portland Trail Blazers
Walter Football- 40th overall, Portland, joining former teammate Meyers Leonard
The Hoops Report- 56th overall, Detroit Pistons
Hoops Manifesto- 53rd overall, Indiana Pacers
NBA Draft Room- on the bubble
If this list seems a little thin, there’s a few reasons for that. First, there are so few good NBA mocks out there. And of those which are good, very few do both rounds. Even fewer do a NBA Mock draft with player descriptions. And quite a few I clicked on from the Walter Football database; by far the most influential mock database on the web, did not even have Brandon Paul in their mocks.
So this is pretty much it for where people think Brandon Paul will go June 27th in Brooklyn.
