Manchester United received another injury worry tonight as central defender Phil Jones left England’s international friendly limping off, midway through the first half.
In postgame media opportunities, England Manager Gareth Southgate said that Jones, suffered only a minor tweak and that he would likely be fine in the big picture.
Jones has withdrawn from the England camp, and will thus not be a part of the friendly on Tuesday against Brazil. He has since returned to Manchester United for treatment.
Jones was taken off in the 25′ and replaced by Liverpool’s Joe Gomez, who made his Three Lions debut.
A week from today, United will host Newcastle in a later afternoon matinee Premier League fixture.
