What does Tottenham Hotspur Football Club mean to Harry Kane?
How much does he love the club? Enough that it could keep Kane from accepting a huge money deal with Real Madrid, arguably the world’s largest and most high profile club.
Kane shot down the Real rumors this weekend and further confirmed that his long term future is at White Hart Lane.
“Yes, definitely,” the young goal scoring sensation eplied when asked if he sees Tottenham Hotspur as his long-term home.
“There are always going to be rumors flying around but I’m happy here. The club is in a good shape, we have a great future and I’m raring to go so we will see what happens.
“We have got a lot of young players raring to go who are getting better and better with each game and that is all we have got to do. Keep working hard on the training field, we are getting better and more experienced the more we play and I think we can only get better.”
Here’s what his manager, Mauricio Pochettino, had to say on January 9th when asked if his Kane could turn down a move to the Spanish capital.
“Yes, it’s possible. Why not?”
“Harry Kane’s dream is to play for Tottenham and you feel his passion for the club, for the shirt. In football, sometimes it’s about business and money but for a lot of players, it’s about passion, heart and feeling. Harry wants to stay with us and he has repeated that several times.”
“We have a very good relationship and this is the truth. We don’t want to sell, and he wants to stay with us and it’s very good news for us, our supporters and for the club.”
“The potential of the club is unbelievable. In the last year-and-a-half, he started to settle here, he has passion for the club and he respects and feels the badge. It’s very important. We need to work hard to keep this feeling for the present and the future.”
The CIES Football Observatory ranked the top 100 most valuable players in the world, and Harry Kane checked in at #5. He was the second most valuable player currently playing his trade in England. In addition to Los Blancos, Kane has drawn reported interest from Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
On a previous occasion, Pochettino has said that Harry Kane is not for sale; at any price.
