Winger Mohamed Salah and Liverpool FC are both currently holding down the top slot in the latest edition of the NBC Sports power rankings. The Reds are now in the penthouse position on NBC’s Premier League team power rankings, which assesses each side’s current form (thus, it’s different from the table, you’ll see Manchester City in third this week).
Salah reigns the individual list right now. The Egyptian winger, also the Premier League’s November Player of the Month, has racked up eye-popping numbers this season.
Mohamed Salah has 20 goals and seven assists in 35 appearances across all competitions this season; 18 goals in 22 appearances in league play. The Fab Four is down to three now with Philippe Coutinho gone to Barcelona, but manager Jurgen Klopp said it best, following the exciting 4-3 win over Manchester City, it was a statement on what they can do and who they are post sale of the Brazilian.
You still have Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane scoring at will, plus The Ox, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain now starting to find his groove, and accomplishing things that he never could at Arsenal.
City looked invincible until the Anfield trip handed them their first loss of the season, and Klopp said it best when he described the thriller as a nice commercial for the Premier League.
It’s way too late for this season, but the Reds will be major league title contenders next year.
