With so much drama going down at Inter Milan with Mauro Icardi, it seems likely that the 25-year-old striker could be moving on from the club soon. Wanda Nara, who is both his wife and agent (also a model, showgirl and TV host), has suggested that his future lies elsewhere.
This past week he was stripped of the captain’s arm band for the Europa League win over Rapid Vienna on Valentine’s Day. Icardi hasn’t said much about having the captaincy stripped, except for typing a Mark Twain quote on an Instagram post that featured a picture of himself.
The Twain quote was: “It’s better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than open it and remove all doubt.”
If Icardi moves on, then his replacement could be Manchester United’s £75 million super sub, Romelu Lukaku, according to Italian media outlet tuttomercertoweb. The report states that the Belgian could be the subject of an “audacious” bid, and given how much United paid Everton for him in the summer of 2017, they would indeed demand a high sale price.
Lukaku has found himself an odd man out since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over, as the Norwegian has preferred to go with an attacking triad of Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford instead.
Now with those first two players out injured for the next 2-3 weeks however, Lukaku will get his chance to earn his way back into the first team.
If Lukaku does leave this summer however, Italy’s Serie A might make a good fit as he hinted at a desire to move to Juventus earlier this season.
