Entering today, Manchester United supporters seemed to be evenly split on the idea of sacking Manager Louis van Gaal.
Post a “Louis van Gaal out” or “Louis van Gaal in” poll on Twitter this week and the results would be about 50/50. Today seems to have tipped the odds slightly towards his ouster.
Obviously, the backlash is because of how dull and tedious Van Gaal’s methods have been this season. Style points are lacking to non-existent, and the Red Devils fail to score dropped them from third to fourth in the table today.
In the last six games at Old Trafford, we’ve seen four goal less draws. The other two results were 1-0, and 2-0, in favor of United.
Indeed, this is the fifth 0-0 in the last nine games for United. There’s a stat trending on Twitter today amongst United fans. It tells us that Sir Alex Ferguson didn’t have a goalless draw in his last 116 games.
Compare that against Van Gaal’s five in the last nine and now the seat of the current boss at Old Trafford is warming up considerably.

He has one season left after this one on his contract, and the Iron Tulip has made it clear time and time again that he intends to see this contract out and then retire. If things continue the way that they are, he may not make it. There’s plenty of rumored replacement names out there already: Pep Guardiola, Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville and Carlo Ancelotti.
