According to multiple reports, Manchester United flop Donny van de Beek is set for his Eintracht Medical ahead of a season long loan move. Despite being both Dutch and having played for Ajax, DVDB just is not rated by manager Erik ten Hag.
United sent him out on loan to Everton last season and aggressively tried to move him on this summer.
They just couldn’t find any takers, and his loan move didn’t improve his transfer market value at all. Despite a season long rash of injuries to the holding/defensive midfielder positions, Van de Beek has only featured thus far this season.
His move won’t take full effect until January 1, when the winter transfer window opens. According to ESPN Frankfurt “have an option to make the deal permanent, although it’s not mandatory.”
It will be interesting to see if the Bundesliga do indeed elect to go that route. Despite never being a real part of the first team plan, since he moved over from Ajax in 2020, Van de Beek has actually accrued 50+ appearances in a United shirt.
What an amazing stat! Donny van de Beek is on our five man short list of players most likely to leave United in January. It is highly unlikely that United replace Van de Beek, or anyone else for that matter, as they were hit today with Financial Fair Play sanctions.
