Colombia and AS Monaco striker Radamel Falcao gave some advice to his national teammate James Rodriguez about his future. Rodriguez, one of the biggest breakout stars of the 2014 World Cup, parlayed that success into a blockbuster deal at Real Madrid, but at the end of year three seems ready to move on.
Rodriguez struggled to find his place at the Bernabeu this past season and even got left out of the Champions League Final squad.
He’s been linked to Chelsea, Manchester United and AC Milan, and two of those clubs are very familiar to Falcao. Monaco struck a deal on deadline day 2014 to loan Falcao out to United, where he totally flopped. Falcao returned to Monaco last year where he found his form again, and helped the club win their first Ligue 1 title in 17 years. He wishes similar success and happiness for Rodriguez
“For the sake of them and the team, I hope that all who have to make a decision do it in the best way possible,” Falcao told Sport regarding the Rodriguez situation. “And above all that makes them happy.”
Before Real Madrid signed Rodriguez to that £63 million deal in ’14, the two players were teammates in Monaco for one season.
