Lots of surprises in the Manchester United starting XI tonight, but the biggest shocker is the inclusion of Paul Pogba. The Frenchman and now World Cup champion isn’t just in the first team that will face Leicester City in less than an hour at Old Trafford tonight, he’s wearing the captain’s arm band.
Given all that we’ve heard about Pogba’s feuding with manager Jose Mourinho and his reported desire to leave the club, this is certainly the lead story of the run-up to the season opener.
Have a look at the starting XI, as tweeted out by the team’s official account just a few minutes ago:

Marcus Rashford, another player who went to the World Cup semi-finals with this national team and thus hasn’t had a lot of rest/holiday is also in the first team.
Luke Shaw, the player arguably thrown under the bus the most often and with the most severity, also cracked the starting lineup, but that is also, at least partially, due to the increased number of absences in the back line right now.
Enjoy the match United fans.
