If do-it-all dynamo Paul Pogba does actually decide that he wants to leave Juventus, it’s Manchester United that could end up being the most fitting suitor. It’s supposedly a three team derby (United, Real Madrid, Barcelona) to determine who would be willing to offer a world record deal worth £100 million.
Juventus want to keep hold of the 23-year-old, but would find it hard to resist such a deal, which would see Pogba earning up to £300,000 a week at the club he left in 2012.
According to ESPN FC yesterday, Barcelona have lost interest now, given how their bid was already rejected. Real are still keen but don’t want to pay the exorbitant sum.
United fans who aren’t already quite familiar with the name Mino Raiola, will be now as they will hear it over and over again this summer. In addition to Pogba, Raiola also represents Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrik Mkhitaryan, the club’s last two transfer buys.
Raiola is the type of agent that enjoys discussing his clients and his wheelings and dealings to the media, so you’ll hear his name a lot. United certainly have Raiola in their phone’s “fave 5” this summer, as they no doubt have his line on speed dial all the time this summer transfer window. Paul Pogba is one transfer narrative that has never gone away, and you shouldn’t expect it to quiet down any time in the near future either.

It’s been widely reported that this deal would break Gareth Bale’s world transfer fee record, and possibly hit 160 million Euro. Given Pogba’s one-in-a-million skill set, it’s easy to see why he could command the biggest fee ever. However, today brings a new wrinkle to this transfer saga in Juan Mata.
Juan Mata has been offered to Juventus in a bid by Manchester United to land £100million-rated French midfielder Paul Pogba, writes Steve Bates in the Sunday People.
New Old Trafford boss Jose Mourinho is willing to sacrifice playmaker Mata to grab former United starlet Pogba in a world-record deal with the Turin-based Serie A champions.
You knew that Juan Mata could be out the door, once Jose Mourinho took over. It’s no secret that he could be looking for a new team, where he wouldn’t find himself on the bench like he did at Mourinho’s Chelsea. Here’s a link to some other teams, in addition to Juve, where Juan Mata could land.
