Marcus Rashford arrived with authority at Manchester United this past season. In both his Premier League and Europa League debut matches, he scored two goals. The 18-year-old striker earned United Player of the Month for February, and his heroics helped inject some hope into a very disgruntled and disillusioned fanbase during a season that often lacked some positive vibes.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has arrived at Manchester United, with serious fan fare, and the global superstar will now usurp Rashford’s position.
You can’t imagine that Rashford would be too terribly excited about losing first team opportunities, but you have to give him a lot of credit for saying all the right things. Rashford praised Ibrahimovic, as well as the other elder statesman in attack, Wayne Rooney, to the club’s official website.
“It’s amazing to have both of them to learn from,” he told MUTV. “You’ve also got someone like Michael [Carrick] too. You pick up bits from each of their games and put them into your own.
“They’ve won so many trophies. I think Zlatan’s won 30 trophies and Wayne and Michael are two of the most decorated players in football so there is a lot to learn from them. And not only for me, but the other young players who are coming through.
“Everything that we’re going through and will go through in the next few years, they’ve been there and done it and can tell us all about it. So it’s a real benefit for us to have them.”
Now moving on to the lighter side of the news, just in case you missed it, or ICYMI, here’s a video of Rashford having some fun this offseason, and it’s quite entertaining because he looks absolutely miserable and terrified while doing it.
Here’s the young English striker, “a real striker” as Louis van Gaal described him, on a Bungee Ball at a fun fair, early in July.
Hey, he seems to have enjoyed the summer off-season; even though he looks sicks here:

Judging from the looks of this video, I don’t think Marcus Rashford will wittingly sign on to take this contraption for a ride again any time soon.
