Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer handed out heavy minutes to the youngsters and second-stringers in the win over Kazakh side FC Astana last night at Old Trafford. Part of that was by design, as it was the Europa League competition, a place for squad rotation.
Part of it was out of necessity, as United were dealing with a first team injury crisis in midweek. Heading into Sunday’s clash against Sebastien Haller, Felipe Anderson, and Manuel Pellegrini‘s West Ham United, they still are. Let’s take look at the weekend fixture team news for the Red Devils and Irons.
Solskjaer has confirmed that midfielder Paul Pogba (ankle injury suffered in United’s draw with Southampton) will miss out as will left back Luke Shaw and forward Anthony Martial.
Meanwhile rising star Daniel James could also miss this clash to an undisclosed injury that he reportedly suffered last weekend during United’s 1-0 win over Leicester City. For the Hammers, they will be without the suspended Arthur Masuaku, whilst Winston Reid continues progressing along the comeback trail with the U23s.
