It was officially announced moments ago that Manchester United and Liverpool will take their bitter rivalry to the Big House this summer. This huge match-up was reported weeks ago, but the date was not revealed until just now- Saturday, July 28, 2018, 5:00 pm at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor.
America’s largest capacity stadium, second in the world behind only Rungrado 1st of May Stadium in Pyongyang, North Korea, hosted United and Real Madrid in 2014. That event remains the highest attended (109,318 fans) soccer match on U.S. soil in history. In 2016, Madrid took on Chelsea, at that clash was the second highest attended (105,826) fans soccer game in American history and the highest in Chelsea history.

The Michigan match is part of the sixth annual International Champions Cup, a collection of international preseason friendlies that will expand to 18 clubs, 22 cities, 27 matches and three continents. In addition to United and Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea will all be participating. In other words the entire big six of England will be involved this summer.
