Time for your daily David de Gea update. It’s a a never ending soap opera like Arturo Vidal was last summer. Will he stay at Manchester United, or move to Real Madrid? Nothing is official yet of course, but here’s the latest headlines on the situation.
-(ESPN FC) The Sun (we’d link to the London newspaper directly, but they have a paywall, so really what would be the point?) reports that David De Gea is set to end the relentless speculation over his future by committing to a new United contract.
The paper describes it as a “massive boost” to the Red Devils, but any prospective deal for the goalkeeper is dependent on being signed before Real Madrid exert their sway in the transfer market.
-On the other hand, The Telegraph reports that Los Blancos are looking to get De Gea locked up well before July Real Madrid want to drive through a deal for Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea before Rafael Benítez’s squad fly to Australia for a pre-season training camp next month.
