Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata is a great spokesman among the roster; both on and off the pitch. The Spaniard has often spoken out on some of the major issues pertaining to the team since his then record setting move over from Chelsea in January of 2014.
Juan Mata is also a very consistent and prolific blogger, and this week he offered up his Christmas blog.
“And this Christmas, will be, a very special Christmas,” (as the song goes) for Mata and company, if United get more wins. Juan Mata revealed what he hopes to obtain for the Yuletide and it’s more wins (predictable, sure).
Juan Mata also said why the Christmas season is so special to him, in the post he made today. An excerpt:
It’s the end of a cold and quiet Sunday in Manchester. The pre-Christmas atmosphere is everywhere here, same as in many other places around the world.
Our win against WBA on Saturday, the fourth victory in a row, gives us plenty of optimism and good feelings with a view to the last two weeks of the year. We are reinforcing something that I’ve been claiming since the start of the season: that the team has got potential and good football, and I’m sure we will keep showing that in 2017.
United are currently just four points off the pace of Arsenal for the fourth and final UEFA Champions League qualification position. However, they’re just seven points adrift of second place, which is a hill to climb, but doable.
The league title seems however like a goal that will have to be put off until 2017-18, as they’re 13 points behind Chelsea for that perch, and the bookmakers have them as a 25-1 long shot to get there.
