Manchester United Manager Jose Mourinho met the media a few hours ago to preview the Festivus clash at Leicester City. We have video of the media session for you here below via YouTube.
There were a whole host of topics covered in this news conference, including: expectations for Mourinho at United, the historical upset Wednesday night, the future of some United players, festive period fixture congestion and much much more.
United will definitely need their fringe players for the massive workload in their midst, and the team may indeed lay an egg somewhere, like they did on Wednesday at Bristol City.
Mourinho admitted his team just didn’t show up to the office that night. However, he maintained that no individual player will see his future at the club determined by that game or any other single outing.
“I don’t make decisions based on only one game or one feeling or one night, not at all,” Mourinho said Friday.
“First of all you always like to speak about the loser, probably you should speak more about the winner, what I told after the match. They were lucky but they fought a lot to try to be lucky and is one of the beautiful things that can happen in football when a team from a lower division kills the giant.”
“I could be critical with my players but they did enough to win.
“They lost when they were the only team people believed could win, so we move on and we move on quickly because we have another match.”
Odds: Leicester City- 15/4, Man Utd- 5/6, Draw- 27/10
