Internationally well known athletic superstars Lebron James and Zlatan Ibrahimovic both currently ply their trade in the city of Los Angeles. So while they’re both as Hollywood as it gets, they will still be on opposite sides in the big International Champions Cup match on Saturday in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Manchester United and Liverpool will bring their bitter rivalry (sort or kind of, this is just a friendly, which will feature squads with most obscure players and few stars) to The Big House this weekend, and it’s possible the match could break the USA record for single soccer game attendance.
During an appearance on a sports network daytime talking head show Zlatan, a former United star, wasn’t happy when asked if he knew that LeBron James has a minority ownership stake in Liverpool Football Club.
“I knew,” Ibrahimovic said, shaking his head during his guest spot on Pardon the Interruption. “But it’s the wrong team.”
Rivalries- it’s why we love sports. Ibrahimovic also of course extolled the virtues of Lebron James on the basketball court, and pointed out the popularity of the sport.
However, Ibrahimovic couldn’t stop himself from saying that his sport, the beautiful game, is superior than what he calls “basket.”

He also wondered aloud if Lebron James is interested in playing soccer, saying: “I don’t know if he’s interested in soccer, even though soccer is bigger than basket — with all due respect for basket.”
On a side note, Monday saw Ibrahimovic dropping by to visit his former teammates while they train in southern California.
