The story of Cristiano Ronaldo possibly leaving Real Madrid has been one of the most publicized transfer rumor of the past few weeks. It’s been all over the Sunday gossip pages and tabloid sheets. Even though Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes has shot them down. United Manager Louis van Gaal told the media this past weekend that the team is very interested in bringing back CR7.
Add in all the reports claiming Paris Saint Germain also want Ronaldo, and these rumors won’t go away any time soon.
Like we heard quite often last fall, Sir Alex Ferguson has been heavily involved in recruiting him.
Now today, this story emerged from a very Pro Real Madrid Spanish outlet
There is one other party involved in this story, who will not be content to wait in the wings: Al Khelaifi and his PSG. An offer of 120 million euros and a contract that would leave the salary the Portuguese star currently earns at Real Madrid for dust is a persuasive argument but, in terms of both football and feelings, United hold all the cards.
Interesting that they used the words “feelings” there. Ronaldo has said several times how much he loves both the city of Manchester, and the club. Manchester United fans definitely love him back, and one small but zealous group decided to pay £3,000 to fly a banner saying ‘Come home Ronaldo’ over one of his games last fall.
