It was another very disappointing season at Manchester United, an occurrence that is becoming all too common under the Ed Woodward regime. And by the brutally honest assessment of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, next season might not be a whole lot better.
This rebuild could take some time, and that means a summer transfer window filled with many comings and goings. And with Manchester United linked to approximately 97,324 players already, it’s time for some United transfer talk.
The Portugese publication Record is claiming that United have opened up talks with Benfica on the potential prospect of acquiring Joao Felix.
The teenage attacking midfielder is strongly considered to be the next big thing, with many of Europe’s largest clubs speculated to be keen on him, but United, according to the Daily Mirror, are willing to meet the player’s £105 million release clause.
Felix has been linked with United plenty of times in the past, but not quite in a manner such as this.
Is Paul Pogba set to bail out and join Real Madrid? Will he hand in his transfer request in order to make that happen? What can be done to keep him?
Well, according to ESPN, the club is willing to hand the Frenchman the captaincy in order to entice him to stay.
Pogba, who captained this past season’s opening win over Leicester City, was later stripped of the captain’s armband by Jose Mourinho.
With current club captain Antonio Valencia set to depart, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reported to be down with eventually handing that status over to Ashley Young.
However, United do not want to part ways with Pogba, no matter how much he wants to leave, and they see this maneuver as a way of trying to keep him happy.
Finally, it’s time to party! Thomas Partey that is, the Atletico Madrid midfielder has admitted that he just cannot rule out the chances of a move being made this summer. The 25-year-old Ghana international isn’t actively trying to force a move, but his comments give United and Arsenal, two teams thought to be targeting him, new hope.
