It promises to be a very exciting summer transfer window at Manchester United, with plenty of potential comings and goings.
So let’s take a spin through the latest transfer rumors and gossip making the rounds on the internet today.
-Manchester United are on high alert with Juventus President Pavel Nedved saying that striker Mario Mandzukic is free to leave the Italian powerhouse, if he so wishes. According to Metro: “United are also keen on Mandzukic’s team-mate Alex Sandro and Nedved says any player that is unhappy at Juventus can leave the club.”
Traditionally, that has been policy at the Old Lady- do not stand in the way of any player who wishes to depart and that may be what the Croatian striker is feeling right now after three seasons in Serie A. Although it’s worth noting that United boss Jose Mourinho has said on several occasions that the club won’t be buying an attacking player this summer, having already splashed the cash, massively, Alexis Sanchez in January.
If a Mandzukic deal is to happen, perhaps Matteo Darmian will be a part of it, as the two clubs have reportedly been in talks about sending the Italian international back to his home country.
Off all the players who may be leaving Old Trafford this summer, Darmian is as likely to be gone as anyone, and Juve could be a great destination for him.
-Finally, United manager Jose Mourinho was spotted in a baseball cap at Austria’s friendly versus Russia scouting West Ham United forward Marko Arnautovic.
However, Mourinho’s former player at Inter Milan is not for sale say the Hammers, according to the London Evening Standard. United are supposedly willing to fork out a lot of money for the double digit goal scorer, but the London club are not keen to part with their club record signing.
Having invested in a new stadium recently, and now a brand name manager too in Manuel Pellegrini, they intend to be buyers, not sellers for the time being.
