It promises to continue being a very exciting summer transfer window at Manchester United, with plenty of comings and goings. Who will be the next to join Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant as new arrivals this summer?
Who will be heading out the Old Trafford door? Let’s take a spin through the latest transfer rumors and gossip making the rounds on the internet today. As always, until it’s actually an officially done deal, take the rumors with a grain of salt.
–Arturo Vidal to Manchester United? Yes, the incessant and persistent transfer narrative of August 2014, a saga that broke the internet in many ways, is now back. Obviously, a whole lot has changed since back then, when Vidal was still with Juventus.
In 2015 Vidal moved to Bayern Munich, and now in 2018, the Bavarian giants are open to the idea of parting ways with him, according to Bild. His sale price is reported to be about £31 million. Naturally, United are interested again, but they might not have the right spot in the midfield open for him right now.
With Paul Pogba, Fred and Nemanja Matic, Mourinho would have to be very creative in figuring a way to get Vidal out on the pitch consistently. He’s also on the wrong side of 30 and has some off-the-pitch issues in his personal history.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Inter Milan believe that they will be the club that is able to sign him away from the Bundesliga juggernaut.
In sticking with Juventus connections, United have agreed to personal terms wth Juve left back Alex Sandro. That doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll see an unveiling press conference and the cliche holding the pen/new shirt photos in the next couple of days though, as Paris Saint-Germain are also in the hunt for Sandro.
The Manchester Evening News explains:
However, that doesn’t mean the transfer will definitely go through as PSG are also reported to be in talks with Sandro’s representatives as they eye an upgrade on Layvin Kurzawa.
“Juventus don’t actively want to sell Alex Sandro but they are prepared to sell the player because they see the price is so high that they can cash in,” (journalist Duncan) Castles told the Transfer Window podcast.
However, that doesn’t mean the transfer will definitely go through as PSG are also reported to be in talks with Sandro’s representatives as they eye an upgrade on Layvin Kurzawa.
-What’s the latest regarding United’s summer long transfer battle with Barcelona for Chelsea winger Willian? According to the Sunday Express, Barca are fearful they will lost this race, as it’s been claimed the Catalan club have had three bids rejected by Stamford Bridge already.
Chelsea are not reportedly not interested in selling him, and you can read more about that at this link.
