Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette is a man who is very much wanted by Arsenal FC. That’s certainly no secret as Lacazette has been linked to the Gunners quite a bit this summer. Jean-Michael Aulas, the club President of Lyon, revealeed that Arsenal is in the running for Lacazette, but says the summer transfer window target of the Emirates is not currently in London.
Arsenal’s bid was reportedly £39.47 million, $52m, and that’s approximately about £17.46 million, $23m shy of what Lyon are reportedly expecting to get for him. Here’s what Aulas Tweeted from his official account:
@OL @Le_Progres Fausses ls informations du Progrès:l'éventuel transfert d'Alex L celui ci n'est pas à Londres la1 ère offre était de 45 m€ !
— Jean-Michel AULAS (@JM_Aulas) July 2, 2017
Translating from French to English, the Tweet reads– “False Progress info: the possible transfer of Alex L that it is not in London the 1st offer was of 45 m €!” Aulas tweeted that message at French publication Le Progres who claimed Lacazette was at the giant English club in London undergoing a medical. However, the Lyon boss is saying, right there on the social media platform that the Le Progres claim is purely fake news.
So while Lacazette could be moving from France to England, this deal is not in advanced stages yet.
