Roberto Firmino remains a doubt for tomorrow night’s UEFA Champions League group stage clash versus Paris Saint-Germain due to the frightening eye injury he suffered this past weekend. After an incident with Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen on Saturday, we later learned that Firmino suffered “an abrasion of the eye,” but that fortunately “there will be no lasting damage.”
The Spurs defender’s finger accidentally got lodged in the Brazilian’s eye socket.ย Yes, it was just as gruesome as it sounds.
โNo idea, to be honest,” Klopp answered when asked about Firmino’s return.
“He is much better. We all saw the picture and we were massively worried. But all these worries are away so he will be fine. If he will be fine for tomorrow, I donโt know in the moment.”
