Liverpool has had a lot of issues this season, and a lot of it has to do with the absence of Daniel Sturridge. One of the main reasons Liverpool was so much better last year was the combination of Sturridge and Luis Suarez working off one another. With Chewy Luis sold to Barca and Sturridge injured, missing both of them at the same time has hit the Reds especially hard.
And it’s not going to get better, as he’s not returning any time soon.
Here’s a statement from Liverpool football club:
“Liverpool Football Club today confirmed scans have revealed Daniel Sturridge has sustained a new thigh injury.”
According to Liverpool expert website Empire of the Kop, Daniel Sturridge will be out about six weeks. So Brendan Rodgers will continue to be limited in his attacking option and expect the Reds struggles to score to persist.
