Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette is the primary Tottenham Hotspur transfer rumor circulating in the Twitterverse, blogosphere, cyberspace and media world today. In the past he’s also been linked to Liverpool and Arsenal, and if Spurs really want him this summer transfer window, they’ll probably have to both pay big money and move quickly to get the deal done.
The French side have imposed a June 30th deadline, as both West Ham United and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly giving White Hart Lane the primary competition in the race to acquire his services.
According to the Daily Mirror:
West Ham have already had one bid turned down, but Tottenham believe they are in pole position after discussions with Lacazette’s representatives.
The 24-year-old, who has enjoyed a prolific 23-goal season as Lyon finished second to runaway champions PSG in Ligue 1, is ready to move this summer and it is understood he is keen on Tottenham.
Lyon is seeking a transfer fee in the neighborhood of £30 million, while Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is supposedly only willing to spend £24 million, on some much wanted support for Harry Kane in attack.
We’ll see if they meet in the middle at £27 million and get this deal Lacazette closed by the end of the month.
