The mid November international break is certainly the perfect time to talk some transfer rumors, as the January window will be here before you know it. Today we focus on Liverpool FC, and we begin with the latest on American international Christian Pulisic, who lashed out on Thursday night after his national team was absolutely dominated by an England club playing a lot of second-stringers.
Maybe if Pulisic makes that over-speculated move to the Premier League from Borussia Dortmund he will let go of some of his anger? He’s been consistently linked to Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
The supposed favorite in the derby to acquire his signature keeps shifting back and forth, but many believe the Merseyside club have pole position due to the Jurgen Klopp/BVB connection and the fact that the German once said he was open to a reunion with Wonder Boy.
However, the Daily Mail sees it quite differently, as the tabloid says Chelsea are the front-runner now. The article maintains that Stamford Bridge will be “in a hurry and will push for the deal to be done in January – particularly with the threat of a transfer ban from FIFA looming, over their alleged recruitment of under-age players.”
Pulisic will be out of contract at Dortmund in 2020.
Next we move on to Dinamo Zagreb winger Dani Olmo, who is reportedly on the radar of both Liverpool and his former club FC Barcelona. Croatian publication Svijet Kladjenja reported that the product of Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy was on Jurgen Klopp’s radar, and saw his name heavily linked to the Reds back in late September.
However, it appears the Spain U21 international prefers a return to the Catalan club now, his transfer fee could run north of £20 million. Olmo has been sensational in the Croatian top flight, helping his side to a league title last season.
Finally, we cover Fabinho, the Monaco midfielder who just arrived this past summer. Seems kind of absurd that he could be out the door already, but Corriere dello Sport report that AC Milan are ready to scoop him up. The Daily Express claims that Juventus are interested in the the 25-year-old as well.
Fabinho has only gradually been integrated into the team at Liverpool, and only in recent weeks. It was really only injures in midfield that provided an opportunity for him.
Milan reportedly want to take him on loan in January before then seeking a chance to make the deal permanent. Overall though, this transfer rumor just doesn’t seem to pass the smell test, not after how much Liverpool paid for him and how recently they acquired him.
