Liverpool will visit Crystal Palace on Saturday as Premier League play resumes, and they’ll do so without the services of two more key players- Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson. In the last game before the international break, Salah’s persistent ankle injury flared up again, and it forced him out of action for international duty with the Egyptian national team.
He didn’t appear in either of the Pharaohs’ Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, and he’s been battling ankle issues since the problem started in the win over Leicester City on September 30.
As for “Robo,” he’s played every single minute of the Premier League season thus far, but he missed international duty with Scotland, due to an ankle issue as well.
Backup full-back Nathaniel Clyne is also out of this one, due to an ACL tear. However, Xherdan Shaqiri is expected to be back for this one and it is thought that Jordan Henderson will/has overcome the virus that kept scratched him from England’s rout of Kosovo on Sunday.
Finally, central defender Joel Matip remains out until the end of the month.
Switching over to the Eagles, Wilfried Zaha is a doubt, due to a foot injury and Joel Ward faces a late fitness test due to a groin problem.
