The 44th President of the United States of America, Barack Obama is back in Washington D.C. and he’s there for both business and pleasure. Obama was FedEx Field to take in Barcelona’s 1-0 win over Manchester United in the International Champions Cup.
POTUS 44 was in the luxury box with Barcelona club president Josep Maria Bartomeu, and he was there for much more than just watching a preseason international friendly.

According to Spanish publication Marca, Barack Obama was meeting with Bartomeu, and the Barca brass to talk business and there were three topics being discussed. The three subjects covered by the cadre of extremely powerful and very wealthy men were, Marca.com states, “the FC Barcelona Foundation projects, the Schools that Barça has in the United States and the future creation of a Barça women’s soccer team in the United States.”
That’s a very interesting initiative for Obama to possibly undertake, the creation of a Barcelona women’s team in the U.S.
Once he left office in January, we all wondered what he would do next after serving as President for eight years. Not many would have predicted that working with Barca would be among the projects high up on his list.
