Eden Hazard, Mo Salah, Kevin De Bruyne Land on UEFA Player of the Year Top Ten List

The English Premier League landed three on the UEFA Player of the Year list Monday, including one member of the short list.

The award, which will be announced at the same time as the UEFA Champions League group stage draw on August 30, will go to one of the following three players: Luka Modric (Real Madrid and Croatia), Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid/Juventus and Portugal) Mohamed Salah (Liverpool and Egypt).

In assessing the top ten by league, the breakdown goes as follows: La Liga six, Premier League three, Ligue 1 one.

Club representation goes like this: Real Madrid four, while Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and Liverpool each landed one. By country breakdown, World Cup champion France landed three while third place finisher Belgium had a duo. Portugal, Spain and Croatia each had one representative to give Europe eight of the ten.

The only non-Europeans on the list hail from Argentina and Egypt.
