Liverpool-Chelsea was by far the standout pairing of this round in the League Cup, and one has to feel that the winner of this match certainly has a good chance of eventually claiming this piece of silverware. While it’s not the biggest trophy that a club can win, it would certainly have been nice for the Reds as they have claimed just one major trophy in 12 years.
Chelsea’s first goal came courtesy of Emerson Palmieri, while Liverpool’s lone scoring strike was achieved by Daniel Sturridge.
